My Fresh in Fifteen Makeup Routine

Some days you need a quick and easy makeup routine to make yourself look a bit more put together quickly. Being a stay at home mom, some days I don’t always feel like getting completely made-up unless we have plans of going out. Other days, I wake up feeling like I need to do something to feel a bit more put together. I try to keep this process as simple as possible, as my toddler demands quite a bit of my time in the morning. Today, I’m sharing my quick and easy “go-to” products, and how I use them to look more freshened up quickly.

First, I start with Clinique Moisture surge, which I use to prep and moisturize my skin. I then apply both the Covergirl Clean and Lancôme Teint Idole concealers, blending with the Sonia Kashuk flat top foundation brush. Keep in mind, you may need to press down with your ring finger in areas that show creases to even the product. I like to set the concealer with a “Wet n Wild Matte About You” setting powder, to prevent creasing underneath the eyes. When applying the setting powder I prefer the Real Techniques pointed foundation brush, because it is particularly soft for use under the eye.

Next, For my eyebrows I start with the NYX Cosmetics Tinted Brow Mascara, to keep them in place and fill in any sparse areas. For my eyelashes I use
L’Oréal’s Voluminous Original Mascara, to lengthen my eyelashes.

After this, I like to bring back some color to my face with the e.l.f palette in Dark, using the shade on the top-most left hand corner of the palette. I finish off with the Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm in Honey Nectar, in order to moisturize the lips.

FabFitFun Review (Winter Box 2018)

I wanted to take a minute to talk about the famous subscription box that we have all been wondering about. The FabFitFun box gives you a chance to try out various popular products without the hefty price tag found in most standard retail spaces. FabFitFun is a seasonal subscription box service, with subscriptions available for either a single box or in a package of several boxes. It’s $49.99 quarterly, (see discount link below to cut that price down!) but this particular box has over $200 worth of products in it.

FabFitFun allows you to customize your box, with each box containing 8-10 full size items. Since this was my first box I wanted the items to be a surprise, and they absolutely were. I had even been considering trying out one of the exact products that was in the box, the Thrive Causemetics Brilliant Eye Brightener in Stella, after seeing a few advertisements for the brand. That product is now a favorite of mine, and I’ve been using it for a little over a week. Below are the items that came in my box, and that really stood out to me immediately.

BEARPAW Combo Set: Headband and Pop-Top Glove Duo ($45.00 USD
This combo set is warm, comfortable to wear, and of course black goes with everything.

PUR Cosmetics Be Your Selfie Palette ($36.00 USD)
This eye shadow palette smells good, is noticeably creamy, and has good pigment pay off. You do get a bit of fall out but nothing too crazy.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Meringue ($26.00 USD)
This is my first Bite beauty product, and has a nice buttery mat lipstick that’s not drying to the lips.

Thrive Causemetics Brilliant Eye Brightener in Stella ($24.00 USD)
This was one of the products that I was most excited for, and definitely brightens the eyes/underneath the brow bone.

A closer look at the items that came in the box. The BearPaw Headband and pop top gloves came in handy this week when the temperatures dropped here.
Here I have the Thrive Cosmetics Eye Brightener in the inner corner of my eyes and underneath my eyebrow.
On my lips I have the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Meringue which is such a creamy mat formula.

If you are considering giving FabFitFun a try you can use for $10 off your first box. With all of the competitive subscription boxes out there, I’d say Fabfit fun gives you the most bang for your buck. You can’t go wrong with getting a full size product before committing to purchasing individual items at market price.
